Shamrock Craft

Shamrock Craft

This is a great project for little ones.  With this project it is easier for an adult to do the first 5-6 steps.  However, there is another idea at the bottom of this post that a child could do alone with supervision.

Supplies:
contact paper (we carry at Best Teacher Supply - in store)
shamrock pattern to trace
pencil

1. Cut paper to 6"x 6".
2. Cut tissue paper to 1" x 1".
3. Make a shamrock pattern out of tag board, card stock or cardboard.

4.  Trace the pattern onto the middle of the paper.
5. Cut out the pattern.
6. Apply contact paper to the front.

7. Put tissue paper squares covering the sticky side of the contact paper.

You could add a ribbon and hang in a window.

Or tape it to a window.

To get your child or students more involved:
Another great version would be to have your child or students cut out a traced open heart shape (or any other shape).  Then apply contact paper to one side.  Add the tissue paper.  Then apply contact paper to the other side.  Cut around the shape again to trim off any contact paper that would be left.
